The PPGEC/UFRPE Board is saddened by the destruction of the National Museum and expresses solidarity with its academic community. There is no education or future when memory, history, culture, knowledge, and science are devalued and allowed to be lost. The policy that fails to provide resources for the development of its people is criminal. The irresponsibility and disregard that educational, scientific, and cultural institutions have received irreparably compromise the future. More than ever, we need clarity to understand what is happening in this country and the willingness to make the necessary changes.
